Find out moreA little about us.
The parish of Our Lady of Grace and St Teresa of Avila serves a Catholic population of around three thousand of the faithful living in North Chingford. The parish church was largely completed by 1931, made possible by the immense generosity of some in the parish, and built in the 'Arts and Crafts' tradition made famous by William Morris. Today, the parish remains at the heart of the local Catholic community, and the church itself a beloved, artistic place of prayer and worship.
Our parish priest is Fr Francis X Coveney. Formerly a curate here between 1983 and 1985, Fr Francis returned to us as parish priest in 2017. Educated at the University of Nottingham and the Venerable English College, Rome, Fr Francis holds a Licence in Fundamental Theology and possesses almost 40 years' of pastoral experience ministering as a Catholic priest within the Diocese of Brentwood.
